Sentam Journals is committed to research integrity, sustained visibility, and long-term accessibility for every article we publish. Indexing in major bibliographic databases is a core part of our publishing strategy, and we pursue it deliberately and systematically, journal by journal, as each title meets the relevant eligibility criteria.
We do not treat indexing as a single milestone but as an evolving portfolio of achievements: current discoverability through Google Scholar, active ISSN registration across our journals, near-term application to DOAJ, and a long-term trajectory toward Scopus and Web of Science. Each is governed by its own criteria and timeline, and we manage them accordingly.
Sentam registers each journal with its national ISSN center as the title reaches the publication milestones required for issuance. As with any multi-title publisher, ISSN registration status varies across our portfolio: some journals hold active ISSN registration, while others are progressing through the application process.
Current ISSN status for any individual journal is available on that journal's homepage and can be confirmed by contacting our editorial team.
Sentam journals are indexed in Google Scholar, one of the most widely used academic discovery platforms in the world. This ensures that:
We are preparing DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) applications for journals that meet DOAJ's eligibility requirements, including a minimum publication history, ISSN registration, a documented peer-review process, and transparent editorial policies. ISSN-registered journals are prioritized for DOAJ application, with remaining titles following as their registration and publication history are established.
Scopus and Web of Science apply a longer evaluation horizon than DOAJ, typically requiring several years of sustained, consistent publication and an established citation record before a title becomes eligible for review. We are building the publication consistency, editorial documentation, and citation history these databases require, and we submit journals for evaluation as each meets the relevant thresholds.
DOAJ, Scopus, and Web of Science represent different stages of a journal's maturity. We sequence our applications accordingly rather than treating them as interchangeable near-term goals.
Sentam maintains preservation arrangements for its published content and continues to develop archival partnerships with recognized preservation services as part of our infrastructure roadmap, including LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS. Preservation is a requirement we take seriously in its own right, and it is also a prerequisite that major indexing databases assess directly when reviewing a journal for inclusion.
Citation-based indicators, including the Journal Impact Factor and H-index, are calculated from citation data accumulated over multiple publication years. As our journals build their publication history, these metrics develop in the normal course of scholarly citation activity.
Authors should note that:
Our priority is to publish research of consistently high quality, so that citation metrics, when they emerge, reflect a genuinely strong body of scholarship.
Regardless of indexing status, Sentam applies editorial and peer-review standards aligned with international best practice:
These measures meet the standards expected by authors, institutions, and the indexing agencies whose review processes we are preparing for.
Authors publishing with Sentam can expect:
Authors who publish with a journal during its growth phase often benefit from strong visibility within focused research communities as that journal's indexing footprint and reputation expand.
